Outplacement Services

Few of today’s employees harbor the illusion they will always be retained by the same company (or even industry).  Most have had career/employer changes already and know their interests and skills.

Today’s employee office support needs are different than they were 15 years ago.  Most employees are computer literate, have home offices, can access voice mail, etc.  They simply do not need to work from remote offices supplied by an outplacement firm.

We provide only the most essential office support, reducing the cost for the purchaser without jeopardizing the effectiveness of the candidate’s job search.  Our product focuses on the career-counseling element of the traditional outplacement product, therefore, we are able to deliver much of the value of more comprehensive programs at significantly lower cost.  Ours is a task oriented, goal-oriented program designed to move candidates on to their new jobs quickly.

In particular, our Directors and Senior Associates work with displaced employees through a 10-step process that focuses on the employee’s readiness to embark on the tasks necessary to move forward in their careers, and then quickly addresses what needs to be done and how it is going to get accomplished.

We work with employees in our initial face-to-face session on building the commitment to approach their job search seriously and with a maximum of effort.  Our approach is not to hand-hold.  EW makes employees aware that the responsibility for making their sessions work best for them is squarely on their shoulders.  We work with them to get themselves organized quickly and give them the structure they need to succeed in their search; using self-assessment tools, checklists, and tried-and-true tips.  Our program does not give them time to do much more than apply themselves to the tasks at hand and to move on quickly.

At certain points during the process we will take charge to ensure speed.  For example, in the preparation of resumes, we prepare the candidates’ resumes and then ask them to edit our work.  Once approved, we produce the resume for them.  We believe this saves time and speeds the process of getting their resume in front of potential employers.
