Merle Weiner

Merle Weiner received her BA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She received her MA and did additional post-graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley.

Merle started her career in management and operations in the legal field, spending 17 years in small and mid-sized law firms.  In 1991 she joined Landels Ripley & Diamond, LLP as the Director of Legal Support.  In that capacity, she managed recruiting and staffing, employee relations, records and risk management.   

In 1998, Merle began consulting on a variety of human resources projects for businesses and non-profits.  She specializes in executive search and recruitment, HR assessments and audits, coaching managers and staff to achieve results, and non-profit board development.   

Merle has been on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Cancer Resource Center in Berkeley, California, since 1998 and has chaired the Board since 2003.  Merle started volunteering with the Taproot Foundation as a Human Resources Strategist in 2008.  Merle is the San Francisco Site Manager for Team Hope Walking for Huntington’s Disease.  She was a member of the City of Berkeley’s Personnel Board from 1992 until 1997, chairing the Board in 1996 and 1997.  Ms. Weiner was a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Alameda County Juvenile Court from 1994 to 2001.  

Merle joined John Parry & Alexander, the predecessor firm of EW Partners, Inc., as an Associate in 1999.
